Did you know that it's harder to get a speeding ticket dismissed in Fort Worth than it is in Dallas? At the law firm of Jack Byno, Attorney at Law, I apply my familiarity with the different charging practices and court procedures throughout the Metroplex to help clients resolve traffic violations problems on positive terms, no matter where they were pulled over. Contact my office in Colleyville to learn more in consultation at 817-685-0912.
Fort Worth has a two-step process for handling all traffic tickets. First, there is a pretrial docket where the officer needs to show up and validate the ticket. If there are any serious defects in the citation or the officer doesn't appear, the case may be dismissed at this first step. It is not usually necessary for the driver to appear at this stage, but if you are a commercial driver or have a substantial defense, you should pursue every opportunity to obtain dismissal of your traffic ticket.
If your case is not resolved at the first step, the next stage is the attorney plea docket. That's where I work to negotiate the best deal I can with the prosecuting attorney. Most drivers will be eligible for an outcome of deferred adjudication probation, which will keep the violation and points against your license off your driving record.
Other communities in Tarrant County, such as Arlington, Grapevine, Southlake and the Midcities, have different procedures for handling traffic tickets, and my experience with the different approaches that work best in each of them can protect your record and your license.
As well as helping Fort Worth area drivers and CDL holders deal with new traffic tickets, I also help people who face serious problems with traffic warrants based on previous unresolved tickets or citations. Before you pay the fine on your next Texas traffic ticket, learn more about your options in consultation at the Colleyville office of Jack Byno, Attorney at Law. Call 817-685-0912.
