Fort Worth Traffic Violations
It is more difficult to have your speeding ticket dismissed in Fort Worth than it is in Dallas. In Fort Worth, there is a two step process to resolving all traffic tickets. First there is a pre-trial docket where the officer must show up and validate the ticket. If there are any serious mistakes or the officer doesn't show, the case may be dismissed. If you have a CDL, you should take any chance you can get to pursue dismissal of your traffic ticket.
The second step takes place if your case is not dismissed, it will be set on an Attorney Plea Docket. On that date, you do not need to appear with me, but I will go to court on your behalf and I will negotiate the best deal I can with the prosecuting attorney. In most cases, I can get you a deferred adjudication probation, which will keep the citation off your driving record.

You do not want to be issued a ticket for a traffic violation when there is already an outstanding warrant in your name regarding a previous violation. There are two separate kinds of warrants issued by the state of Texas, and with over a decade of experience as a traffic attorney:
Alias Warrant: Did you fail to respond to your Arlington traffic ticket? If so, the ticket expired and now there is an alias warrant in your name. You still have the right to appear in court. I will post your bond, remove your warrant, and set a new court date.
Capias Warrant: If you already had your hearing, but you failed to comply with the orders of the Arlington municipal court, then they issued a capias warrant. You have two options: pay the fine or go to jail.
Arlington Traffic Warrants
Even the smallest traffic violations can result in a warrant, if you fail to take care of your Arlington ticket or comply with court orders. Do not underestimate the importance of taking care of your traffic violation:

According to officials cited in The Dallas Morning News report, many people fail to pay traffic citations because they do not know their options. Many assume the only option is to plead guilty and pay. Some will attempt to avoid paying the fines indefinitely and try to avoid arrest. But the same officials also warn that if arrested during the round up, offenders usually only have two options - pay the fine or go to jail. Law enforcement officials urge people with Dallas warrants to take care of the situation proactively, citing the opportunity to negotiate and deal with prosecutors.
If you have or suspect you have an outstanding Dallas warrant, getting help is crucial. The first step, however, is to make sure that your case never gets that far. If you have received a traffic citation, it is important not to ignore the Dallas ticket or hope that it will go away on its own. Failing to pay or fight the fine can have serious consequences. An experienced traffic defense attorney can help explain your options.
MARCH IS DALLAS & FORT WORTH WARRANT ROUND UP MONTH
Every March, law enforcement officials from around Texas participate in the annual Statewide Warrant Roundup. The Dallas & Fort Worth roundups focuses on finding and arresting those with outstanding warrants and collecting the millions of dollars in unpaid fines. Though the roundup usually takes place in the spring, others occur in various counties throughout the year. This past August, marshals from Dallas and the surrounding communities conducted another roundup, going after the $99 million in uncollected fines from over 130,000 individuals.
As the annual Dallas roundup is here, it is important to take care of Dallas traffic citations and warrants before the police find you.
Alias Warrant: Did you fail to respond to your Fort Worth traffic ticket? If so, the ticket expired and now there is an alias warrant in your name. You still have the right to appear in court. I will post your bond, remove your warrant, and set a new court date.
Capias Warrant: If you already had your hearing, but you failed to comply with the orders of the Fort Worth municipal court, then they issued a capias warrant. You have two options: pay the fine or go to jail.
Traffic Warrants
Even the smallest traffic violations can result in a warrant, if you fail to take care of your Fort Worth ticket or comply with court orders. Do not underestimate the importance of taking care of your traffic violation:
Speeding tickets
Driving without a license (No DL)
Driving while license suspended (DWLS)
Running a red light or stop sign (DTCD)
Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (FMFR)
No Insurance
No registration or expired registration (MVR)

DALLAS TRAFFIC TICKET WARRANTS ARE ACTIVE AND ARRESTS ARE BEING MADE
As government budgets across the country feel more and more pressure, state and local municipalities must find other means to generate revenue. In Texas, the annual statewide and Dallas warrant roundup helps cities collect millions in outstanding fines.
Last March, over 250 law enforcement agencies from around the state participated in the warrant roundup. Typically, these events occur in the spring though many other cities and jurisdictions conduct other warrant roundups throughout the year, as Dallas County did recently.
In August, Dallas marshals sent notices to those with outstanding warrants warning them that they would be arrested if the fines were not paid. A WFAA report notes that in the August roundup, officials were targeting over 134,000 people with nearly 421,000 delinquent traffic and non-traffic violations, totaling $99 million in uncollected fines.
Other jurisdictions also face the dilemma of how to collect millions of dollars in outstanding traffic fines. In Fort Worth alone, of the nearly 843,000 cases filed from January 2008 to March 2010, over 125,000 warrants were issued for nonpayment according to a Star Telegram report. The warrants represent over $78 million in revenue.
What You Should Do?
DALLAS TRAFFIC TICKET - DALLAS WARRANT ROUND UP
According to officials cited in The Dallas Morning News report, many people fail to pay traffic citations because they do not know their options.

This past August, marshals from Dallas and the surrounding communities conducted another roundup, going after the $99 million in uncollected fines from over 130,000 individuals.
As the annual Dallas roundup is only weeks away, it is important to take care of Dallas traffic citations and warrants before the police find you.
Alias and Capias Warrants
There are two common types of warrants issued in Dallas traffic cases.
An alias warrant is what the court will issue when a person fails to respond or show up for a hearing on the traffic citation. For those with an alias warrant out for their arrest, there is still an opportunity to appear in court. An attorney can help post your bond and give you a chance to fight the charges.
A capias warrant, on the other hand, is issued when you do not comply with the orders of the court. For this type of warrant, there are basically only two options - you can pay the fine or go to jail.
Working with a Dallas Traffic Ticket Attorney
Unfortunately, many people tend to ignore the citation and hope it will go away on its own. The reality is that a warrant can and will be issued if you fail to take care of the ticket, even for minor offenses and small fines. Depending on the type of warrant, you may have an opportunity to appear in court and fight the charges or pay the fine without the embarrassment of an arrest.
If you are facing any sort of Dallas traffic violation, it is important to pay careful attention to court dates and contact an experienced Dallas attorney in your area for help. While a traffic ticket may seem like an inconvenience, ignoring the ticket can only lead to bigger problems later on.

If you follow my instructions, I can help you try to get your Dallas traffic ticket dismissed.
MARCH IS DALLAS WARRANT ROUND UP MONTH
Every March, law enforcement officials from around Texas participate in the annual Statewide Warrant Roundup. The Dallas roundup focuses on finding and arresting those with outstanding warrants and collecting the millions of dollars in unpaid fines. Though the roundup usually takes place in the spring, others occur in various counties throughout the year. This past August, marshals from Dallas and the surrounding communities conducted another roundup, going after the $99 million in uncollected fines from over 130,000 individuals.

Dallas Municipal Traffic Violations
If you follow my instructions, I can help you try to get your Dallas traffic ticket dismissed. The first thing I will do is send a notice to the court, in order to set a court date, which will usually follow in about six months. More often than not, Dallas police officers do not show up for these cases, and so they are completely dismissed. However, in order to have your case dismissed, you must attend the hearing with me to get it dismissed. If you cannot appear in court with me, in most cases, I can keep the citation off your record but you will have to pay a probation fee to the city.
